The simple answer would be to say yes that is part of what they do. The correct answer would be to say that the role of the Quantity Surveyor (or QS as they have been tagged) is to manage and control costs within construcion projects using various procedures and tools. They are now more commonly refered to in organisations as Commercial Managers.
